Jim Woodside

Jim Woodside, age 60, of Pinckneyville, passed away Tuesday evening, January 20, 2004 in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
Jim was born March 17, 1943 in Sparta, the son of Everett Harold and Mary E. (Atkins) Woodside.  Jim was united in marriage to Sandy Morrow April 24, 1964 in Pinckneyville and she survives.  Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He owned the Standard gas station in Sparta.  He was also a carpenter and a retired coal miner.  Jim was a member of the UMWA, Pinckneyville American Legion, a lifetime member of the Pinckneyville Eagles club and a charter member of the Pinckneyville Optimist Club.  He enjoyed dancing, singing, playing the trombone, mushroom hunting, fishing, Nascar racing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his mother, Mary E. Woodside of Pinckneyville; wife, Sandy also of Pinckneyville; three daughters, Yolanda Kaye Issler and husband Tim of Pinckneyville, Andrea Lewis and husband Ryan of Carterville and Tiffany Jayne Dixon and husband Daniel of Pinckneyville; five grandchildren, Phoebe, Sara and Sophia Issler, Kristen Dixon and Natelie Lewis and a special aunt and uncle, Lydia and Ed Harrell of Du Quoin.  He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Friday morning, January 23 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Duane Bolinger officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until services.
